Unlike other heat pump systems which produce less heat when the outside temperature drops, the HyperCore Series will perform at it’s rated capacity down to -15°C. HyperCore is the only heat pump range that can guarantee this kind of performance. HyperCore is ideal for; locations where the temperature falls below zero, high altitude areas, high humidity areas or if you simply want the best heating performance available.

HyperCore Heat Pumps are the only heat pumps that are guaranteed to provide the same amount of heat as the temperature outside drops. For example, the graph below shows the performance of the Mitsubishi Electric HyperCore MSZ-FB50VAH Heat Pump against an ordinary heat pump. While both heat pumps deliver the same amount of heat when the temperature is at 7°C outside as soon as this drops the ordinary heat pump struggles and produces less heat. With a HyperCore Heat Pump you are guaranteed get the same heat you need (and paid for) at all temperatures down to -15°C.
HyperCore Heat Pumps are fitted with a ‘heating caulking compressor’ unique to Mitsubishi Electric. The compressor is extremely efficient in its construction and performance. This compressor moves more vapour volume for less energy input and allows the compressor to maintain efficiency and higher revolutions.
When temperatures drop below zero degrees ice will build up on the outdoor unit of any heat pump. How the heat pump reacts to this determines how effective it will be in providing heat to your home. To remove the ice build up the heat pump will need to go into “defrost ” and during this time the heat pump will not be delivering heat into your home. HyperCore’s defrost logic has been fine tuned to extend the period in between defrost periods and optimise its heating performance.
Mitsubishi Electric HyperCore Heat Pumps have an extended heating operation range that allows heating to -25°C. To achieve this the system logic has been changed as well as the addition of a 130 watt base heater and relay card. This heating element prevents ice build up in the outdoor unit following defrost. This element will not operate under most ambient conditions above zero degrees. This ensures the continued delivery of heat to your home by increasing the time between defrost cycles.
Perfect for asthma and allergy sufferers the HyperCore Series are fitted with advanced filtration systems to provide optimal air quality by filtering and deodorising the air. These two functions work together to remove even the tiniest airborne particles and break them down.
The Plasma Duo filter system keeps the air pure which is ideal for asthma and allergy sufferers. It has two plasma air purifying functions that work together to remove airborne dirt particles from micron to nano-size in scale.
A plasma electrode unit generates ozone & plasma. This combination and two special filters makes a dynamic plasma air cleaning function.
The Platinum Catalyst Deodorising filter uses tiny holes as small as 1 nanometer on a surface of approximately 3,000m² to capture small odour-laden substances in the air and break them down.
An Anti Allergen Electric Enzyme filter utilises the combined power of static electricity charged in the filter and the plasma generated in the Plasma Electrode Unit to capture bacteria, pollen and other allergens in the air, which are then neutralised in the filter.
Our advanced i-see sensor automatically seeks out temperature differences in the room you need to heat, directing airflow to these areas to bring them up or down to temperature. This prevents excessive heating or cooling and therefore unnecessary operation, ensuring total comfort and reduced energy wastage.
The advanced “i-see Sensor” measures room temperature at floor level as well at the unit itself, resulting in greater temperature control. Unlike standard systems, the “i-see Sensor” automatically moves from side to side, searching out temperature disparities and directing airflow to specific areas where it is really needed. Wide airflow of 150° from left to right (90° in cooling) ensures all corners of the room are kept at the optimal selected temperature. The “i-see Sensor” controls air temperature and air movement to prevent excessive heating or cooling and unnecessary operation. Ensuring total comfort while reducing.
In AREA mode, efficient heating or cooling is directed where it is really needed – the right side, left side or the room as a whole.
